July 28, 2012 8am – 2pm
The Epic is a 40-mile ride from Newtown Creek in Greenpoint to Rockaway Beach via the Brooklyn and Queens waterfronts. The route will be marked, allowing riders to travel in a group that moves at their own pace.
A rest stop with refreshments will be provided at Aviator Sports at Floyd Bennett Field and the ride will end at the new Rockaway Beach Club food vendors on the boardwalk. Water, restrooms and bike shops along the way will be marked on ride maps.
Information about preparing for the ride, picking up ride wristbands at the BGI office, and getting to the start locations will be provided to all registrants via email within one business day of receiving registration payment. If you have not yet received this information please contact us at email@example.com or 718.522.0193 before 5:00PM on Friday, July 27, 2012.
The Brooklyn Waterfront Epic Ride will take place rain or shine on Saturday, July 28, 2012. There is no rain date. In the event of cancellation due to severe weather, your registration fee is non-refundable and instead will be considered a charitable contribution to Brooklyn Greenway Initiative.
