The Epic Ride highlights the potential of a completed Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway and a completed Jamaica Bay Greenway. It is co-sponsored by Brooklyn Greenway Initiative, the Transportation Alternatives Brooklyn Volunteer Committee, Regional Plan Association, National Park Service, and the Rockaway Waterfront Alliance. Special thanks to the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation and the NYC Department of Transportation.
Not sure you’re quite ready for the Epic? You can still join the fun on July 28th! For less experienced riders, or those looking to learn more about the remarkable natural and cultural history of Floyd Bennett Field, the National Park Service’s Jamaica Bay Unit will be guiding a free 2.5-mile bike tour across the windswept runways of Floyd Bennett Field.
The Floyd Bennett Field Bike Tour will begin at the Aviator Sports Epic Ride rest stop at 10:00AM and will return for food and festivities at noon. There are bikes available for rent and plenty of parking is available at the Field. If you are interested in participating in the Floyd Bennett Field Bike Tour please call the National Park Service at (718) 338-3799.
