Cast Your Vote on 12/1 or 12/2 for Greenway Projects at Newtown Creek

Please help secure funding for two Waterfront Greenway related projects that will also improve quality of life for people living and working near Newtown Creek. All it takes is a visit to one of the locations below on Wednesday, December 1st or Thursday, December 2nd to place a vote for projects #13 and #21.

The projects are: #13) a new pedestrian/bike bridge across Newtown Creek and #21) green infrastructure for the West Street segment of the greenway. You can vote at one of these locations:

Wednesday, December 1st, 3:00PM to 8:00PM

Queens Library (Court Square) at 25-01 Jackson Avenue


Thursday, December 2nd, 3:00PM to 8:00PM

PS34 in Brooklyn, at 131 Norman Avenue (near McGuinness Boulevard)

The City Parks Foundation is managing a process for communities to select projects to receive funding from a $7 million Newtown Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant mitigation fund. There are 22 projects on the list. When you vote, you will be able to rank your top 5 choices. This process will result in a clear list of community preferences. The final decisions will be made by NYS Department of Environmental Conservation.
