The Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway is highlighted in Vision 2020: New York City Comprehensive Waterfront Plan. The year-long process to develop Vision 2020 incorporated input from multiple city agencies and stakeholders across the five boroughs. The completed plan was unveiled by Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg and City Council Speaker Christine C. Quinn on March 14, 2011.

Brooklyn Greenway Initiative was one of many groups that helped to define goals for Vision 2020, and in particular for the neighborhood “reach” that comprises North Brooklyn. We’re pleased to report that the published strategies for Reach 14 (Brooklyn Upper Bay North and South) reinforce the city’s commitment to implementing the Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway along its entire 14-mile route.
