Botanical Drawing at the Naval Cemetery Landscape, host Jessica Dalrymple

June 27 | 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Jessica Dalrymple will lead Botanical Drawing at dusk at the Naval Cemetery Landscape

Botanical Drawing hosted by, Jessica Dalrymple

At this free event join Jessica for a relaxing evening of sketching the plants and flowers of The Naval Cemetery Landscape (NCL). The event will begin with a brief discussion of NCL’s native plant palette and landscape design followed by instruction on botanical drawing techniques and warm up exercises after which participants will scatter to draw what inspires them. Summer flowers will be in bloom, come enjoy and unwind 🙂

* materials are provided but feel free to bring personal sketchbooks, supplies, and/or

snacks. A full water bottle is also recommended as there is not water on site!

This workshop will touch on how sketching can be a vehicle for observation and a kind of symbiosis; that is to say, the act of quieting down and focusing our attention enlivens our subject which simultaneously inspires us.

E mail JessicaMDalyrmple@gmail.com with any questions.

The rain date for this event will be Sunday, June 30th 2-4 pm
